Sente Encourages Students to Apply for Summer Legislative Internship Program

VERNON HILLS, Ill. – State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, announced that her office is currently accepting applications for her legislative internship program.

“With the end of the academic year rapidly approaching, it is time for students currently enrolled in high school or college to begin thinking about opportunities for the summer,” Sente said. “A legislative internship is a fantastic way for students interested in government, community service, public relations or marketing to develop their existing abilities and acquire new skills that will help them stand out from their peers.”

Interns will assist Sente and her legislative team with community outreach efforts, district research, event planning and data management. In addition, students will have the opportunity to attend meetings with Sente and assist in constituent service in order to develop a detailed understanding of the operations of a full-time constituent service office.

“Serving as a strong voice for young people and encouraging them to become actively engaged in their government is very important to me,” Sente said. “This legislative internship is another way for students to get involved in their community and observe how state government has an impact on their everyday lives.”

Interested students may apply online at (case-sensitive). For more information, please contact Sente’s full-time constituent service office at 847-478-9909 or email
