Sente and Community Partners Offer Recycle-O-Rama and Shred Day to Help Residents with Spring Cleani

“Our Recycle-O-Rama and Shred Day event is a free, convenient way for residents to responsibly dispose old electronics and confidential documents,” Sente said. “I am proud that so many groups could come together to offer such a great service to members of our community.”
Residents are encouraged to stop by the mall to take advantage of free electronics recycling, household item recycling and on-site document shredding. Among the different household items being collected for recycling are: clothing, textiles, shoes, eyeglasses, bicycles, bicycle parts and children’s books. Electronic items, such as TVs, computers, CD/DVD players, cell phones, printers, and small appliances can be recycled at the event for free. Latex text paint will also be collected for a small disposal fee. Household chemical waste will not be collected at this event.


Who: State Rep. Carol Sente, Vernon Hills Park District, Village of Vernon Hills, Vernon Township, SWALCO, Hawthorn Mall serving as co-hosts and residents who want to responsibly dispose of household items

When: May 20, 9 a.m. to noon

What: Shred paper, dispose of latex paint, recycle old electronics and other household items (clothing, textiles, shoes, eyeglasses, bicycles, bicycle parts and children’s books).
Household chemical waste will not be collected at this event.
